FEEDING PROGRAMS
Missions for Orphans has become involved in a feeding program at Bar-Ko-Wino Primary School in Bondo, Kenya. This program originally was feeding 400 school children one meal a day. It has now grown to feeding over 600 children daily, one meal of maize and beans. This program is supported by the generous giving of supporters and the farming projects. It is Missions for Orphans hope that some day the farming projects will produce a self-sustaining feeding program for these children that will never cease.

FARMS
Missions for Orphans has had the opportunity to be involved in the Kitale, Kenya farming project. In Kitale, we have been farming 30 acres of land to grow maize in 2010. The results of our maize farm in the October harvest was 706 bags at 90 kg each. We harvested 2.35 tons of corn per acre! Our farm land in 2011 has grown to 170 acres. More photos of the 2011 farming project can be viewed in our photo gallery. We now have established 4 tomato greenhouses. The greenhouses are weather resistant, cost efficient and can produce more than 4 crops a year. With $3000, a single greenhouse can produce enough tomatos that will be sold and can support the orphanage, boys home and provide income for widows.
In Bondo, Kenya we also started the "hot house project" and it will support the Foundation Stone Orphanage and Bar-Ko-Wino's feeding program.

In Jinja, Uganda, Missions for Orphans has helped a local grandmother, Grandma Mugisi , obtain a water line to her property.

Kitale Boys Home
In Kitale, Kenya a boys home is being funded to help teenage boys stay off the streets. More information about this project can be obtained by following this link: The Love Mercy Care Centre Our next project is to build a boys dormatory to house 14 boys in January 2012.The total cost will be $4459.
